After washing your makeup brushes thoroughly, slide in a brush guard to keep the brush's shape and to prevent extra water from soaking into the glue which causes brush hairs to fall out.

When you put the brush guards on the brushes have the brushes sit vertically with the hairs&brush guarding facing down with the handle on the top in a cup to get rid of all excess water out of the brush.
